Momentum builds as Broten makes whistle-stop tour

On a whistle-stop tour of 18 constituencies today, NDP Leader Cam Broten was met by supporters excited by his commitment to cut Sask. Party waste, make life more affordable, and fix and invest in health care and education.

“All over Saskatchewan, people are telling me they’re concerned about the Sask. Party’s hidden budget and secret cuts,” said Broten. “They’re frustrated that the Sask. Party has left us broke and in deficit after a decade of record resource wealth. And now they’re keeping their planned budget a secret. If Mr. Wall won’t trust Saskatchewan people with his budget, how on earth can he expect them to trust him with their vote?”

Broten said people know the NDP is the only party who can stop the Sask. Party’s cuts and invest in the priorities of everyday families- like hiring hundreds of teachers and educational assistants, nurses and care aides.

Stops on Broten’s tour included the campaign offices for:

• Batoche

• Prince Albert Carlton

• Prince Albert Northcote

• Saskatchewan Rivers

• Saskatoon Centre

• Saskatoon Churchill-Wildwood

• Saskatoon Eastview

• Saskatoon Fairview

• Saskatoon Meewasin

• Saskatoon Northwest

• Saskatoon Nutana

• Saskatoon Riversdale

• Saskatoon Southeast

• Saskatoon Stonebridge-Dakota

• Saskatoon Silverspring-Sutherland

• Saskatoon University

• Saskatoon Westview

• Saskatoon Willowgrove

“Saskatchewan people are increasingly tired of the Sask. Party’s wasteful spending, misplaced priorities, and sketchy land deals – we all deserve so much better than that,” said Broten. “Together, we can build a province that is truly stronger – stronger for middle-class families, fairer for people working hard to get ahead, and kinder to our children and grandparents.”
