Karen Purdy is the New Democrat candidate in Moose Jaw Wakamow.
Karen is a life-long Saskatchewan resident who grew up on a farm outside of Brownlee. After high school, she worked in food service while also serving as the music director position at St. Andrew’s Church -- a position she holds to this day. Her passion to help people led Karen towards a nursing education at SIAST, where she earned her diploma and became a licensed practical nurse.
Today, she's a nurse at the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. She was elected by her fellow nurses as their unit chair for SEIU-West.
Karen is passionate about creating opportunities for middle class families to get ahead. She's also a proud supporter of better environmental policies to increase Saskatchewan's use of renewable resources.
She's passionate about building high quality public health care, excellent schools, and an economy that focuses on making life a little easier for middle class families, and on providing security and opportunity for small business.
