Saskatoon Nutana Cathy Sproule

Born and raised on a farm in southern Saskatchewan, Cathy worked as a lawyer for the federal government as an aboriginal law specialist prior to being elected. 

She has served as the MLA for Saskatoon Nutana since 2011 and is the Deputy Caucus Chair for the Official Opposition NDP and holds the following critic responsibilities: Agriculture, Rural Affairs, Environment, Saskatchewan Power Corporation, Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport, SLGA, Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation, Francophone Affairs, and Office of the Provincial Secretary.

She is a musician and advocate of the arts, co-founding the successful Ness Creek Music Festival, Northern Lights Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Festival.

She believes strongly in education and holds bachelor degrees in Arts, Education, and Law from the University of Saskatchewan as well as being bilingual in English and French.

She has two sons, one attending Concordia University in Montreal and one attending the University of Saskatchewan.
