Regina University Aleana Young Pledge your vote

Aleana Young is a school board trustee for the Regina Public School Division, where she chairs the Community Relations Committee.

Aleana is a respected young leader in Regina. She has been a tireless advocate for high-quality education for Saskatchewan students, from properly resourced classrooms to financial accountability to ensuring every child has access to a playground at school.

Aleana believes education should be a top priority – from K-12 to post-secondary. As a member of the University of Regina senate she represents the interests of all school divisions across the province on behalf of the Saskatchewan School Board’s Association.

Aleana holds bachelor and Master degrees from McGill University, and works in energy on the University of Regina campus for a not-for-profit research organization.

Young is currently a director with Family Service Regina. She serves on the City of Regina’s Community Leaders Advisory Committee. She served as the volunteer coordinator for the Saskatchewan Book Awards. With interest in economic development, Young was a director with Regina’s Downtown Business Improvement District and served as a representative to the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency.

She has been nominated as a YWCA Woman of Distinction, a CBC Top 40 under 40, and ‘favourite trustee’ in a readers’ poll by Prairie Dog Magazine.

In all of her ‘spare-time’ she is well-known local food writer (Verb Magainze), blogger, and TV guest. She has travelled extensively and once spent a summer digging up Roman ruins in Israel.

Young and her partner live in Regina, and are avid readers who enjoy travel, camping and culinary adventures.
