We need to nominate and elect more women.
There is tremendous value in ensuring we have more New Democrat women’s voices in the Legislative Assembly, around the caucus table and, soon, around the cabinet table. It’s the right thing to do from a moral perspective, but it’s also just good political strategy to do everything we can to ensure our team of candidates and our elected caucus are representative of the population.
An important part of ensuring we nominate and elect more women is to provide some financial support to women candidates during the nomination process.
The Bessie Ellis Fund exists to provide financial support to women that seek nominations to be New Democrat candidates.
In the next election, let’s make sure we have a lot more women candidates knocking on doors, participating in debates, pointing out how this government is failing Saskatchewan families, and making the case for why voters should support the NDP.
Yes, I want to give to the Bessie Ellis Fund to elect more women!
