Tell the Sask. Party to Pass Bill 610, The Meaningful Duty to Consult Act

Under Scott Moe and the Sask. Party, Saskatchewan does not have a credible plan to stop the sale of Crown lands or address the high rates of suicide, poverty and negative health outcomes affecting Indigenous communities. On November 7, 2022, Saskatoon Centre MLA Betty Nippi-Albright introduced Bill 610, The Meaningful Duty to Consult Act. This legislation would codify the government’s obligations on consultation with Indigenous communities and add consistency and language clarifying when the policy would be triggered.

We need the government to immediately pass Bill 610 to ensure meaningful engagement.
