Saskatchewan renters are facing the highest rent increases in Canada. Some renters have seen increases of 20%, even 30% in a single year.
This isn’t right.
Other provinces — from British Columbia to Manitoba to even Doug Ford’s Ontario — have rent control. Saskatchewan families deserve the same protection.
On Monday, November 24, MLA April ChiefCalf introduced her bill, The Rent Control Act. We are calling on the Saskatchewan Party to join us and support this groundbreaking piece of legislation that will help save Saskatchewan families money and stop the dramatic price increases that are forcing renters from their homes.
