Sign the Petition: Protect Affordable Childcare in Saskatchewan

Scott Moe and the Sask. Party are putting affordable childcare at risk.

Families were promised $10-a-day childcare. But because of Scott Moe’s harmful changes to childcare funding, providers warn they may have to raise fees, cut spaces, lay off staff, or close their doors.

Some families are already being told they will have to pay new mandatory fees just to keep their childcare spot. At the same time, the Sask. Party has cut proper support for part-time and casual spaces relied on by nurses, continuing care aides, first responders, shift workers, and parents of kindergarten children and those whose schedules do not fit a Monday-to-Friday workweek.

This is not what Saskatchewan families were promised.

Affordable childcare is not a luxury. It is what allows parents to go to work, businesses to find workers, and communities to grow knowing their little ones are thriving in a rich learning environment.

We call on Scott Moe and the Sask. Party to:

✅ Reverse the harmful July 1 childcare funding changes;

✅ Properly fund part-time, casual, and flexible childcare spaces;

✅ Stop new mandatory fees from being downloaded onto families;

✅ Work with childcare providers, parents, and frontline workers;

✅ Create an equitable funding model that keeps childcare centres open; and

✅ Protect $10-a-day childcare for Saskatchewan families.

Parents should not be forced to choose between going to work and finding affordable childcare.
