Saskatoon – Ryan Meili, NDP Candidate for Saskatoon Meewasin, was joined by NDP Leader Trent Wotherspoon to launch the New Democrats’ by-election campaign.
Saskatoon Meewasin by-election, a chance to send the government a message: NDP
“This government is on the wrong track, and the by-election is our chance to send a message,” said Meili. “Over ten years in power, the Sask. Party has failed to save for the future. People are suffering because of their cuts and mismanagement, and we can’t let the Sask. Party continue to cut healthcare and education and sell off our Crown Corporations. This campaign is about sending a message that we can do better.”
Meili is a family doctor in inner-city Saskatoon, a teacher of medical students at the University of Saskatchewan, a long-time advocate for better public policy, and the founder and executive director of Upstream. He lives in Saskatoon with his wife, pediatrician Mahli Brindamour, and their son Abraham.
“Leading up to and during the last election, the Sask. Party hid their budget and lied about the mess they had created with our finances,” said Wotherspoon. “Ever since, while they've been breaking promises, we’ve been standing up in the legislature and working across the province to hold the Sask. Party’s feet to the fire and fight for people and the province we love. Ryan will be a great addition to our team and make us even stronger as we continue to fight the Sask. Party’s callous cuts and desperate sell-offs of our Crown Corporations and call on them to invest in Saskatchewan people.”
“This by-election is about sending a message and stopping the Sask. Party damage so that we can build Saskatchewan together,” said Wotherspoon.
