Saskatoon Nutana NDP presents:
The Climate Change Crisis and How Saskatchewan New Democrats Should Respond
Location: Hudson’s Back Room, 401 21st Street East (wheelchair accessible from the West entrance)
Wednesday, March 20th at 7:00pm
Peter Prebble will discuss how climate change is rapidly becoming a public health and ecological crisis at the global level. He will critique the Saskatchewan Party government’s plan for reducing greenhouse gas pollution, and present policy options available to New Democrats for making real progress on emission reduction in every sector of the Saskatchewan economy.
Peter was a Saskatoon MLA for 16 years, served in Cabinet and was also Premier Lorne Calvert’s Legislative Secretary for Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy. After leaving public life, he served as the Saskatchewan Environmental Society’s Director of Environmental Policy for several years. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications on climate change and on building a renewable energy future for our province.
Peter is involved in a volunteer leadership role in many environmental organizations, but he presents on March 20th as a long-time New Democrat who wants to see Saskatchewan’s NDP form government, and play a major leadership role in addressing climate change and other important environmental and social justice issues.
Discussion and questions will follow.
