Workplace supports for survivors of domestic violence

  • Saskatchewan has the highest rate of domestic violence among the provinces;
  • Saskatchewan must do more to protect survivors of domestic violence.
  • For many, the violence follows them to work;
  • Employers should take every reasonable precaution in the workplace to protect workers who are survivors of domestic violence;
  • Five days of paid leave and up to 17 weeks of unpaid leave should be made available to workers who are survivors of domestic violence; and
  • Critical workplace supports made available to survivors of domestic violence should also be made available to workers living with post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of domestic violence.
