Cheantelle Fisher to be Saskatchewan New Democrat Candidate in Moose Jaw North for Next Provincial Election
MOOSE JAW – The Saskatchewan NDP has named Cheantelle Fisher as their candidate in Moose Jaw North for the next provincial election. Fisher was acclaimed by local Saskatchewan New Democrat members earlier today.
“I am ready to get to work for the people of Moose Jaw North fixing health care, investing in education and addressing the affordability crisis.” said Fisher. “The future of Moose Jaw and Saskatchewan is incredibly bright. We need a Saskatchewan NDP government focused on the right priorities to make that a reality.”
During her husband’s career in the Royal Canadian Navy, Fisher worked across Canada in the non-profit sector as a support worker, community counsellor and labour advocate. Since returning home to Saskatchewan to raise her young family, Fisher has worked at the Moose Jaw and District Food Bank and lives in Moose Jaw North with her husband and three children.
“Cheantelle is a tremendous addition to our team,” said Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck. “She is community-minded, hard-working and ready to represent Moose Jaw North in the Legislature.”
Fisher is the thirty-first candidate nominated for the Saskatchewan NDP. The next scheduled nomination is contested race in Saskatoon Riversdale on Monday, February 26th.
