“Pride in Politics” A Discussion With Proud 2SLGBTQ+ Politicians (Saskatoon)

It’s Pride month in Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party presents “Pride in Politics”, a discussion panel with proud 2SLGBTQ+ politicians and activists from across the Prairies! Join us on Wednesday June 16th, 7:00-8:00pm for Saskatoon Pride for a virtual extravaganza. The evening will be moderated by a local Drag performer and features candid discussions, fantastic door prizes and the crowning of the evening’s Pride Gear Enthusiast where a lucky participant will win a gift basket.

Janis Irwin, MLA for Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood, Women’s & LGBTQ2S+ Issues Critic

Alex McPhee, Federal candidate for Cypress Hills - Grasslands, first professional Cartographer on a federal ballot and a respected political analyst.

Deanna Ogle, Co-chair of the Rainbow Pride Committee and Saskatchewan Representative for the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC)

Following the Rosetown-Elrose AGM, join them via Zoom for a presentation on the Right to Accessible, Public Transportation in Saskatchewan.

Featuring guest speakers:

Terri Sleeva – disabilities advocate who recently won a human
rights ruling from the Canadian Transportation Association (CTA)
ordering Rider Express to make bus service accessible.

Jacob Alhassan (University of Saskatchewan health researcher) –
Newest publication: “Politics, transportation, and the people’s
health: a socio-political autopsy of the demise of a 70-year-old
bus company.”

Followed by a Q&A. and discussion on accessible, public transportation in rural Saskatchewan.
