BECK TO GET SASKATCHEWAN OUT OF LAST PLACE ON HEALTHCARE AND EDUCATION

REGINA – Today, Carla Beck and her Saskatchewan NDP team kicked off the 2024 election campaign, commiting to lower costs, fixing health care and making life better for Saskatchewan people.

“It’s clear, the people of Saskatchewan are ready for change,” said Beck. “Everywhere I go in this province, I see the potential and opportunity. Saskatchewan has an incredible story to tell. But after 17 years of cuts and closures, Scott Moe and his Sask Party have dragged our province down to last place.

“This election comes down to one question: Are you better off under Scott Moe? Across the board, the answer is no. Our healthcare system is in crisis, our kids’ classrooms are underfunded, and families that used to be able to afford that yearly vacation are now struggling just to make ends meet.”

Under Scott Moe and the Saskatchewan Party, the province ranks last in the country on health care and education and second last on economic growth. Saskatchewan reports the highest rates of violent crime in the nation. Life has become more expensive, with families paying 40 per cent more PST overall since Scott Moe came to power. Health care workers are burnt out, wait times have skyrocketed and local emergency rooms close with no warning.

A Saskatchewan NDP government would get the province out of last place on health care and education and lower costs to help families get ahead. On day one, Carla and her team will go to work staffing up the health system and will cut the PST on gas and groceries.

“This election, we can vote for a better future. It’s time to get Saskatchewan out of last place on healthcare and education. It’s time for change.”
