Field Notes - October 21, 2025

The fall session of the Saskatchewan Legislature begins tomorrow — and we’re ready. Over the past few weeks, our team has been busy standing up for Saskatchewan families: meeting with communities, proposing real solutions, and fighting back against Scott Moe’s neglect of our healthcare system.

Here’s a quick look at what we’ve been working on — and how you can get involved in shaping what comes next.

The People Of Yorkton Deserve A New Hospital

On October 16, our team was in Yorkton making it clear that an NDP Government will build a new hospital in Yorkton.

Eighteen years ago, the Sask. Party promised a new hospital that never came. Today, the emergency room is too small, acute care rooms are overcrowded and there is no hot water in the maternity ward.

Our plan includes housing and upgrades to the municipal infrastructure, like the wastewater treatment plant.

What would you ask Scott Moe?

The Legislature returns tomorrow, and we want to hear from you. What issues do you think we should be raising in the Legislature? Take a moment to complete a short quiz.

If This Doesn’t Change Someone Is Going To Die

Across Saskatchewan, emergency rooms are closing without warning — leaving patients in crisis with nowhere to go.

Over Thanksgiving, patients in Kipling whose ER was closed were directed to the Arcola ER — but it was also closed.

People need to know when an ER closes.

That’s why we’re introducing legislation to make public notification of every ER closure mandatory.

While rents across Canada fell 3.2 per cent and remain below levels seen two years ago, Saskatchewan has seen another increase in rental prices this October, according to a report from Rentals.ca.

A Stronger Future for Saskatchewan

Together, we’re standing up for better healthcare, lower costs, and a government that actually works for people.

Thank you for being part of this movement — your support and your voice make a difference every single day.

Sincerely,
The Saskatchewan NDP Team
