BECK WILL BUILD WHITE CITY & EMERALD PARK HIGH SCHOOL
Part of Beck’s plan to reverse Scott Moe’s cuts, get Saskatchewan out of last place on education
WHITE CITY – Today, Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck committed to building a high school for White City and Emerald Park, with shovels in the ground by the end of 2025.
“White City and Emerald Park have so much potential and they need the infrastructure to match,” said Beck. “For years, this project has been a top priority for the community but Scott Moe has ignored them. It’ll take a change in government to get this school built and get this province out of last place on education. It’s time for change.”
Beck is committed to making the White City and Emerald Park high school project a top priority. On the first day of the new government, Beck will direct the Ministry of Education to request and review project proposals from Prairie Valley School Division.
Prairie Valley School Division has been calling on the Sask. Party government for a high school for over a decade. Parents have gathered nearly 800 signatures in support of the high school.
White City and Emerald Park are some of Saskatchewan’s fastest growing communities in Saskatchewan and the only communities with a combined population above 5,000 but no high school.
The White City and Emerald Park high school is part of Beck’s generational commitment to reverse Scott Moe’s cuts to education and get Saskatchewan out of last place.
Beck kicked off her campaign last week with a guarantee to not raise taxes and will soon release a fully-costed platform that balances the budget in four years.
