Carla Beck Releases Her Plan For Change
SASKATOON – Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck released her fully costed election campaign platform to get Saskatchewan out of last place on healthcare and education, make life more affordable and communities safer and to build a strong and growing economy.
“Saskatchewan, it’s time for change,” Beck said.
Beck’s platform includes critical commitments to staff hospitals, cut emergency room wait times and give every person in Saskatchewan access to a doctor close to home.
“In Saskatchewan, we take care of each other, and we aren’t afraid to do the hard work to get big things done,” Beck said. “After all, we are the province that brought public health care to the rest of Canada.
“It’s time to get Saskatchewan out of last place. This election, we can do that. We can change the government.”
The platform also includes commitments to cut the gas tax on Day 1 and remove the PST on groceries and children’s clothing before Christmas.
“Scott Moe did nothing to help families who have been struggling to make ends meet for years — in fact, he piled on more taxes and added costs onto household bills,” Beck said. “A Saskatchewan NDP Government will help you keep more money in your pocket, so you can save for the future.”
The platform also includes a generational investment in Saskatchewan schools, a plan to get tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime by hiring frontline 200 officers, funding social supports and opening more affordable housing units.
“We’ll make sure that every child in this province can reach their full potential, with quality education, smaller classrooms and a safe community to grow up in,” Beck said.
Beck’s platform also laid out her Hire Saskatchewan economic plan to prioritize local businesses and workers, a program to revitalize downtown Main Streets and freeze the small business tax.
“Our government will be focused on what matters to you — and we will work with the people of Saskatchewan, not against them,” Beck said. “On October 28th, vote for change — vote for a Saskatchewan NDP government.”
