Saskatchewan NDP Commits to Getting Healthcare Out Of Last Place In The Battlefords

NORTH BATTLEFORD – Today, Saskatchewan NDP candidate for the Battlefords Tom Krocynski and NDP candidate for Saskatoon Nutana Erika Ritchie pledged that a Saskatchewan NDP Government led by Carla Beck would deliver better healthcare for the people of Saskatchewan.

“People are being sent hours of away, out The Battlefords altogether, to get the care they need,” Tom Krocynski said. “Scott Moe and the Sask. Party have abandoned the Battlefords as our hospital deals with rolling blackouts.”

“Sask. Party’s Jeremy Cockrill has been silent on this and hasn’t done anything to fight for the people he pretends to represent.”

The intensive care unit at the Battleford Union Hospital was recently closed for 48 days in a span of just six weeks.

Amanda Singh, a North Battleford resident, shared her story about her loved ones being sent to Lloydminster and Saskatoon for emergency care.

“I’ve seen firsthand how strained our hospital is here in North Battleford,” Amanda Singh said. “We need more doctors and nurses. Scott Moe and the Sask. Party has failed to provide any meaningful improvements. They don’t seem to care about me or anyone in my community.”

“A Saskatchewan NDP government won’t settle for last place in healthcare and will invest to retain, recruit and train more health workers so all communities can have the care they need when they need it,” Erika Ritchie said. “The people of Saskatchewan deserve nothing less. It’s time for change.”
